Law & Order Steeply Deteriorating in Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram: CCTV footage exposing the assailants behind the bomb attack on BJP state headquarters in Thiruvananthapuram have been released. The attack which took place at 11.45 pm on Tuesday was captured in the CCTV of a neighbouring residence. State BJP president Kummanam Rajashekharan has lashed out at Pinarayi Vijayan, hailing him as the sole Chief Minister of the country who has not bothered to take an initiative in restoring law and order in the state.

Reminding the Marxists time and again that the Bharatiya Janata Party cannot be destroyed whatever measure they resorted to, Kummanam said that a time will come when BJP will be forced to retaliate in self defense. “This is the first time in the history of Kerala that a party office has been attacked. CPM must remember that neither daggers nor bombs will deter BJP from its path. These will not destroy BJP and the non- retaliatory spirit being maintained need not be considered by CPM leadership as cowardice,” he said.

Hailing Pinarayi Vijayan as the sole Chief Minister of Kerala who has not taken an initiative in ushering in peace and maintaining law and order in his own state at a time when violence was being unleashed unbridled, Kummanam said, “If Pinarayi and Kodiyeri will, law and order can be restored within minutes in the state. But here we have a Chief Minister who has not even bothered to condemn the acts of violence that are rampant in the state. This attitude only serves as fodder to assailants. This is the first time that Kerala is facing such a situation.”

Kummanam has also alleged that Pinarayi Vijayan has turned into a Chief Minister who shields his own party men, irrespective of any wrong doings. “This is breach of the oath taken. The Marxists are the ones to decide if Kerala must have peace. CPM has formed the government and must take an initiative for parleys. The RSS and BJP has extended a willing hand towards peace talks, but that has always been thwarted by the CPM leadership,” he said highlighting how the latest incident is the latest instance of how law and order has been violated in the state.

The assailant who came astride a bike was seen hurling explosives on the state headquarters building in Kunnukuzhi. Forensic experts have conducted detailed studies of the footage. The attack shattered the window panes of the office building. No one was injured.
