Kurukshetra Prakasan Book Fair started

Changanacherry: Kurukshetra Prakasan is holding a six-day book-fair here from Monday at Veluthampi Dalava Nagar (Perunna Municipal bus-stand complex).


The exhibition will be held in 15 stalls and around 35,000 titles, most of them books on Indology from leading Indian and foreign publishers, will be on display. The fair is being conducted in connection with the 150th anniversary of India ‘s First War of Independence.


 The book fair will feature a series of symposia and academic deliberations focusing on the history of India ‘s freedom movement. Dignitaries like Transports Minister Mathew T Thomas, MLAs CF Thomas and PC Vishnunath, litterateurs P Madhavan Pillai, M Achuthan, Ettumanur Somadasan, Thuravoor Viswambharan, AM Unnikrishnan and poet D Vinayachandran will participate in the discussions.


The history session of May 4 with focus on the history of India ‘s freedom movement and PC Menon, CI Isac, Kootil Muhammad, TG Mohandas, TS Girishkumar and MP Ajithkumar will speak. The fair will be inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhi University vice-chancellor Jansi James.
