Kummanam seeks probe into issuing possession certificate of Aranmula land to the KGS

PATHANAMTHITTA: Aranmula Heritage Village Action Council patron Kummanam Rajasekharan has on Friday sought high-level probe into the conspiracy behind the authorities issuing possession certificate of Aranmula land to the KGS Group, promoters of the Aranmula airport project. Kummanam said there’s a hidden agenda behind the issuance of the certificate to the KGS Group. The land originally bought by Kalamannil Abraham, who sold 326 acres to the KGS Group, was yet to get the possession certificate, he said.

The probe should include the authorities who were behind the operations, so that the guilty could be brought under the law, he said.

The district administration is playing hide-and-seek in the matter at a time when the KGS Group and certain vested interests are delaying the land proceedings, according to him. The district administration, however, is yet to implement the verdicts of the Kerala High Court on excess land and on the land used for filling the streams and ponds reclaimed for the airport project. He said that the authorities should initiate measures to distribute the land declared as excess land to the landless as per the prevailing law.
