BJP demands probe into Marad leak

The Bharatiya Janata Party has urged Chief Minister VS Achuthanandan to find out how the Marad Judicial Report was leaked to Islamic resistance movement National Development Front (NDF), even before being placed in State Assembly.

“We have strong doubts that the NDF managed to get it from the Home Ministry and LDF should order a probe to ascertain how it was leaked,” BJP State president PS Sreedharan Pillai told reporters here on Sunday.

The party leadership would meet Achuthanandan on Monday and urge him to order a probe into the matter, he said. The report of Thomas P Joseph Commission that probed into the May 2003 carnage at Marad beach – claiming nine lives – was placed in Assembly on September 27.
