Kerala Police loosing its credibility

via HK published on October 29, 2007

Its obvious that a state Police will support the ruling government in any state, but severe interference from the ruling party or its local leaders will raise serious doubts among the Public on the credibility of the force.

During Changanassery incident number of Policemen eye witnessed the attack on ASI Elias by SFI goons. Not only they couldn’t do any thing other than being mere spectators when their colleague was under attack, but those innocent Policemen were not even able to utter the truth due to strict warning from their seniors and political leaders. Police officers all over the state are very much aware of who killed their associate but they are in a state of helplessness, fearing the wrath of AKG centre.

Within hours after the incident the real accused, an SFI activist was arrested by the Police near by a theatre and he has bought in front of the witnessed Policemen to confirm it. After he was identified the culprit was taken in to the custody but within one hour the main accused of the murder was released from the custody due to powerful interference from the local & district leaders of the ruling party.

There were seven SFI activists presented when ASI Elias killed, Police took all of them into custody but within hours they all released with a strong warning that there should not be any record that these people were arrested.

Those Policemen present at the time of incident knows very clearly who is the real culprits but they are frightened to tell the truth due to apprehension of disciplinary action from their seniors.

Various sources indicates that those Police officers including a DYSP who had followed the direction from the CPI(M) local area secretary is awaiting a special promotion once the matter is subsided.

It’s well known that whenever CPI(M) is in power they used to appoint cadres in the Police department with a mission to make sure forces will jump as per the tunes of AKG centre.

Now the big question is if the Kerala Police cannot arrest the real culprits of the murder of their own Police officer, who is murdered in from of them, how can they protect the people of Kerala?
