Kerala police intercept yet another suspected child trafficking racket, bus seized.

Yet another set of children, this time 26 boys who were illegally being taken to orphanages have been rescued by police. The children, stated to be from Ahmedabad were being taken to Muttil Muslim Orphanage, Wayaand. The group roused the suspicion of police, when they were spotted at Thamarassery. The bus, with registration KL 732344 has also been seized.

According to police, the bus had a few adults, who claimed to be guardians and orphanage authorities. The children were from the age group of 5 to 14. The adults tried to give a picture of having taken the kids for an excursion, which according to police was not convincing.

However, following an interrogation, it was revealed that these children at present were the inmates of the orphanage in Wayanad. With such a revelation in the backdrop of the child trafficking of Muslim children, police have affirmed that a detailed probe will be conducted into the matter.

The children will be handed over to Wayanad Child Welfare Board.
