The BJP president Adv. P S Sreedharan Pillai said that after the Railway Budget , the Union Budget 2006-07 has also totally ignored the interest of Kerala. Its a clear manifestation of the inability of the 29 members of parliament from state, who could not impress upon the government jointly ruled by them in New Delhi, he said .

Even when the state did not have a single MP during the NDA regime led by Mr. A B Vajpayee, an allocation of Rs. 108 crore was made in their maiden Railway Budget for the development  of railways in the state, he pointed out.

Where as in the current Union Budget nothing has been included as new, not even the much publicised Kochi metro project, he said.
