KANNUR:
Alleging that a recently
arrested LeT militant had links with the Kerala-based
People’s Democratic Party (PDP) headed by Abdul Nasser
Maudhani, the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Mocha yesterday
asked the ruling Left Front in the state to disassociate
itself from the PDP.

BYJM state President K Surendran alleged that the militant,
Abdul Jabbar, was present at a meeting organised to
accord reception to Maudhani in August last year in
Thiruvananthapuram after he was released from jail subsequent
to his exoneration in the Coimbatore serial bomb blast
cases.

Distributing copies of a photo of the meeting appeared
in a newspaper, he said Kerala Home Minister Kodiyeri
Balakrishan, Irrigation Minister N K Premachandran and
Education Minister M A Baby had also shared dais with
Maudhani then.

Surendran said BJYM would press the Governor to remove
the three ministers as their presence at the meeting
was “a clear indication” to LDF Government’s
“soft stand” towards extremist outfits.

He also demanded that the probe into the terror links
in the state should be handed over to Anti-Terrorism
Squad.

Surendran said the BJYM sponsored Swabhiman rally here
on Dec 1 would now be held on Dec 3 due to changes in
the programmes of BJP President Rajnath Singh.
