Thiruvananthapuram: Intelligence agencies are now gathering details about those who ventured to gulf countries and amassed wealth in a short period of time. The move comes following the recruitment of Abu Tahir in Mid-East terror groups. The probe will include those who are suspected of having links with terror groups.

Intelligence agencies are said to have gathered information about persons and recruiting agencies who operate under various guises and aid in the flow of money into Kerala under different pretexts. It has been reported that those having terror links, venture to Middle East countries via these agencies and migrate to foreign lands from there with the help of fake passports.

The Central government is said to have directed R&AW to investigate into the matter. “Northern Kerala has many such agencies which recruit only Muslims. They have come under scanner and details of those who have ventured to the Gulf countries via these agencies will be probed into. Thus the role of R&AW has to be strengthened,” said sources.
