Kerala govt.sidelined Vandemataram-P.Parameswaran

Kochi:When the whole nation sings our National song today in unison, Kerala Government is happy that the Schools are all closed for Onam vacation, and there by they could avoid the controversy looming Vandemataram.Kerala govt. also have no plans to observe a special Vande Mataram Day once the schools reopened in the State.


 


However, the stand taken by the Government to ‘sideline’ the importance of the day has invited criticism from various quarters. Bharatiya Vichara Kendram director P Parameswaran said that the Government could avoid from giving its view on the singing of the National Song. The Government could cite Onam holidays as an excuse from holding the celebrations, but it must announce a policy on the matter


 


He demanded that the ruling LDF clarify its position on the instructions issued by Central Ministry to sing the song in all the schools. The Kerala Government should clarify whether it stood by the directives of the Union Government. “Are they dumbfounded by the communal forces acting against national integration?” he asked.


 


BJP and Shiv sena had organised various functions all over Kerala on this special occasion.
