Kerala Govt Least Interested in Safeguarding Hindu Rights and Interests: Kummanam

Malappuram: State general secretary of Hindu Aikya Vedi Kummanam Rajashekharan has lashed out at state Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, reiterating that the government had no authority to stake claim on the treasures of Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple.

Delivering the key note address at the state meet of Hindu Aikya Vedi, Kummanam Rajashekharan said the Chief Minister and his government were complete failures in protecting the interests of Hindus or safeguarding their rights.

“Even the basic facilities and amenities have not been provided for Sabarimala bound pilgrims. The Hindu society will fight tooth and nail in thwarting off all efforts in trying to set up an airport in the heritage village of Aranmula,” he said.

Reiterating that Hindus today are on the path of uniting, he exhorted Hindus to try and tread steadfast during the journey. “Under the aegis of Hindu Aikya Vedi, the government was presented with a petition citing 127 requirements. However, the government was least inclined to go through the same or take it into consideration. It is the Hindus who should administer temples. The current administrative laws being followed, were chartered when Hindu society stood divided. Things are starkly different now. It is time that these laws are rewritten,” added Kummanam.
