Kerala converted to Ambady!!

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM : The State on Sunday turned virtually into Ambadi, with lakhs of tiny tots dressed themselves as Krishna and Gopikas and other characters of the puranas donning the streets as part of the Janmashtami celebrations being conducted by the Balagokulam, worlds biggest kids organization.  

Janmashtami was celebrated across Kerala with religious fervour and spirit. Heavy rush of devotees was witnessed at all major temples including Sri Padmanabha Swamy temple in Thiruvananthapuram and Sree Krishna temple at Guruvayur. Shobha Yatras were organized at all main centres in the State by various Hindu outfits. Huge crowds of people watched Shobha Yatras held in all major towns including Thiruvananthapuram, Thrissur, Kozhikode and Kannur. Children dressed as Krishna and Gopikas and floats depicting different incidents in the life of Lord Krishna were the highlights of the Shobha Yatra.

Throughout the state Shobhayatras were organised by Balagokulam. The annual Janmashtami programmes are one of the hugely attended events held across the State. There were cultural programmes also as part of the celebrations. Pageantries depicting scenes from Lord Krishna’s life like Geethopadesam were organised across the State.
