Kerala to change CM?

published on May 9, 2009

With the whole of India waiting for the election results to decide who will make the new government that will rule our country for the next five years; the left is busy trying to cover up its track in the SNC Lavalin case.

A lot can be read from the hurry in the report from the AG in the case and of the sudden removal of Quattorochi in the Bofor’s scandal. It needs to be studied well if the Congress and the Communists have come to an understanding on these common issues. The defense deal corruption is suddenly not to be heard too.

The CPM secretariat on Friday decided to ask the Polit Bureau to remove CM V.S. Achuthanandan for not obeying party orders to protect the accused Pinarayi Vijayan from the multi crore corruption scandal.

VS may be asked to tender his resignation but it might pave way for a big group fight that might result in him being removed. IF that happens Kerala could easily see the CPM being split in the lines of party obedience and muscle power. The person to gain would VS, as he would the true communist leader who refused to side with corruption. On Wednesday he refused to give in to the demands made by the party ministers. In the end he was forced to accept the AG’s recommendations.

Surprisingly, the party came out with an official view that no such demand for his removal came up and as always blamed the media syndicate for issues bogus news.

Kerala will have to wait for May 16th to know what would be the climax of this high paced thriller.
