BJP to observe protest day today

Kannur : Widespread attack is taking place against Hindus in and around Azeekode area with full blessings of Communist party state leadership. Bombs were hurled and stones were pelted on houses of BJP-RSS swayamsevaks. The house of BJP national executive member and former State president CK Padmanabhan also came under attack.

The preplanned attack against Hindus by CPM goons is said to be to protest against the murder of DYFI activist Dhanesh by unknown people.RSS State Saha Prachar Pramukh Valsan Thilankerry said that his organisation did not have any strength in Meenkunnu area where the murder had occurred. He said that there were only a few RSS sympathisers in the area. Thilankerry also said that the RSS would not support anyone connected with this murder.

CPI(M) workers went on a rampage against the offices and houses belonging to the BJP and the RSS leaders. Stones were pelted at the residence of the CK Padmanabhan at Azheecode near Kannur. Window panes of the house were damaged in the incident.

Several BJP offices in different parts of Kannur came under attack and a bus stop shelter and the bust of slain BJP leader KT Jayakrishnan were also damaged by CPI(M) men. The situation in Kannur area remained tense throughout Sunday with armed CPI(M) men moving in batches in certain party pockets.

In a related incident, the office of BJP organ Janmabhoomi daily was damaged in stone-throwing. Libraries of Hindu Organisations were burnt, Houses were looted. Women and Children were harassed.

Meanwhile, BJP State president PK Krishnadas called upon the party workers to hold protest marches in all Assembly constituencies on Monday against the attack on the residence of party leader CK Padmanabhan in Kannur on Sunday.

BJP national president Rajnath Singh strongly condemned the attack on Pandmanabhan’s house carried out by the CPI(M) men. He said that the State BJP had the power to retaliate against the CPI(M) tyranny.
