Kanchi seer to aid CDB

THRISSUR: The Sankaracharya of Kanchi Swamy Jayendra Saraswathi has agreed to set up a `Pilgrim centre’ at Chottanikara Bhagavathi Temple run by the Cochin Devaswom Board (CDB) in Ernakulam district. According to a CDB release here, the promise was given by the Sankaracharya when the CDB officials met him at the Kanchi Math recently. The centre will provide accommodation to financially backward devotees. The release said the Kanchi Math and the CDB had decided to jointly set up educational institutions. CDB president M A Krishnanunni, members K K Menon and A C Velayudhan, and secretary U Govindankutty were among those who took part in the discussions.
