K M Mani not stalwart of toiling class but of Church & Feudal lords – Parameswarji

published on July 16, 2014

Director of Bharatiya Vichara Kendra P Parameswaran has said that the statement issued by state Finance Minister KM Mani about the “Aranmula Airport being constructed at any cost”, is one that triggers fear in the hearts of common men.

“The statement issued by the finance minister is that of a challenge, issued against the warning given by Green Tribunal of grave ecological hazards in case the airport project was executed.  This stands contradictory to his stand for upholding the rights of toiling class  put forth by him and his partymen,” said P Parameswaran.

“The stand of the state government and Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, who have been chiefly instrumental in the construction of the airport are highly dubious. Now, close on the heels of the Chief Minister’s views, the finance minister has come forward with support for the project that has been denied permission. Both the Chief Minister and Finance Minister have absolutely no consideration towards the Aranmula temple and its sacred antiquity,” pointed out P Parameswaran.

“Both of them have come forth in support of the airport project. It is undeniable that this will undoubtedly incur the wrath of Hindu society. At the same time, both of them are so vocal in sabotaging the Madhav Gadgil report which calls for conserving the Western Ghats and implementing the Kasturirangan Report. Even though they have reiterated that it is for the safeguarding of farmers’ rights, reality is extension of protection to the church and a few feudal landlords,” he lashed out.
