Jihadists hijacking Muslim community: VHP

KOCHI: Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) chief Ashok Singhal has said the entire Muslim community had been hijacked by ‘jihadists’ and the peace loving Muslim leaders were not in a position to go against their diktats.

“It is the jihadists who are creating trouble in the country and disrupting communal harmony,” Singhal told reporters on Monday, after launching the four month long ‘awakening programme’ under the banner of Hanuman Shakti Jagran Samithi at Pavakkulam temple here.

Regarding the delay in the arrest of PDP leader Abdul Nassar Madhani, Singhal said those who were not allowing his arrest were greedy to get Muslim votes. “Madhani is a habitual terrorist. Certain politicians are supporting him just to get votes,” he added.
