Jihadi Terror Network behind Kolalambu investment Scam

published on October 28, 2014

A Jihadi terror network, with its tentacles spread all over the country is said to be behind Kolallambu investment fraud. According to Crime Branch, the crores, earned through this fraud has gone directly into the hands of those running terror networks.

Reports also state that certain Mosque committees in Malappuram and Thrissur have been in receipt of crores and that their deposits run to rupees 2400 crores. The epicenter of the racket is said to be in Dubai, from where the money is said to have reached Kerala as black money. Those swindled have alleged that bigwigs of the Marxist party and Muslim League are shielding the perpetrators.

A recent investigation report submitted by Dy SP PB Prashobh clearly points out every suspicious factor. Prashobh had also arrested prime suspect Allied Hassan, alias Simla Hassan, a Jihadi whom police had been hesitating to arrest since four years. Hassan was interrogated too, after being taken into custody. With this move, the Muslim League vented their ire on him, by seeking his transfer, with a League minister getting involved personally to ensure transfer. Sources also state that there are moves to stall investigation process as well. Earlier a move to transfer Prashobh to Perinthalmanna was thwarted owing to those swindled approaching the court.

The scam is said to have taken place during the regime of the previous UDF government, when Kodiyeri Balakrishnan was the state Home Minister. It is alleged that the government maintained a callous attitude even though petitions were submitted.  Even a change of government did not yield any positive results.

Amongst those trying to stall investigations, Muslim league stands in the forefront. Scores of oversees Indians are said to have been swindled in the scam, centered round Dubai. Those swindled are planning to petition the Union government to let NIA take over investigations related to the case.

Five people hailing from Edappal- Changaramkulam who were swindled by the racket, are said to have committed suicide. Many others are on the verge of a suicide.
