Jehadi’s arrested for Temple burglary
Madhur theft: One more held
KASARGOD: Another accused in the Madhur temple theft case was arrested by the special investigation team of the police on Saturday.
The police arrested Abdul Haris, 28, who was residing at a residential quarters in Karuvathadka near Belinja.
The police recovered a portion of the booty from his house. The theft at the Madhur Siddhivinayaka temple took place in the wee hours of November 10, last year.
The police had already arrested Ukkas Basheer, the first accused in the case.
According to police, Ukkas Basheer and Abdul Haris entered the sreekovil of the temple after removing the tiles.
The accused stole the crown, besides several gold ornaments that adorned the deity, prabhavali, ear ornaments and pearls.
The accused had discarded the prabhavali near the temple.
