IUML Backs Abdu Rabb?; BJYM seeks the removal of League from handling the education Ministry.

Education Minister Abdu Rabb, who stirred a hornet’s nest with the transfer of the headmistress of Cotton Hill School, has the backing of Indian Union Muslim League. According to the IUML, Abdu Rabb “will be backed and will not be isolated”. Meanwhile state Yuva Morcha president Adv P Sudheer has categorically stated that teachers are not employees of IUML office and sought removal of Muslim League from handling the education sector.

“It is high time that the education sector is taken away from the shoulders of Muslim League. The decision to transfer the headmistress of Cotton Hill School who belongs to the scheduled caste, clearly shows the bias of Muslim League,” said Sudheer, while inaugurating the IUML remonstration march at Kerala Assembly.

“The communal agenda of Muslim League is being implemented in the education department. This, however, will result in grave consequences. The education sector should not be in the hands of Muslim League anymore. The unwritten law of Muslim League of suspending those who belong to other religions and those who do not obey them is a dangerous move. The transfer of Urmila Devi, principal of Cotton Hill School should be revoked. The episode is just an instance of the working of a retaliatory attitude in the mind of the education minister,” said Adv Sudheer.

“After the UDF government came in to power, all officers including IAS officers, belonging to the lower strata of society have suffered many episodes of indiscrimination and torture. The current stands taken by the government is because of the bitter truth that she hails from the lower strata of society. This torture being meted out by the government to those from scheduled castes has to come to a halt immediately,” said the Yuva Morcha leader adding that more remonstrations will follow if the transfer order is not revoked.
