It is time to speak out about Nemom

via A Swayamsevak published on May 28, 2011

I worked at Nemom for Rajagopalji. All of us did. With all our might. Our votes increased four fold. But it was not enough.

The reason ? We started our work too late. We failed to understand the significance of the Nemom election and the chance it presented. We failed to concentrate our full manpower IN the district into that constituency and instead spread our strength all over the place. We tried to win in places where we had absolutely no chance of winning. Places like Parassala, Vattiyoorkavu…

We snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.

Even with all these mistakes we could have won..only if..Only if we had booth level committees and workers to man those booths. When we arrived at Nemom to start working for Sri O Rajagopal, there were no booth committees; there were no organization on the ground. We had to start from scratch … We did our best. But our best was not enough.
IT WAS THIS ORGANISATIONAL FAILURE, THIS LACK OF PARTY MACHINERY AT THE BOOTH LEVEL, THAT LED TO OUR DEFEAT. I feel that things have to come out in the open. And the fact of the matter is there are no FUNCTIONAL booth level committees of the BJP anywhere. This serious weakness has to be rectified. Unless and until the Party takes on this issue, there is absolutely no hope for the BJP in Kerala. All other organisational work has to be put aside until the booth level committees are organised.

I do not blame the Hindus for this defeat. On the other hand, I am surprised that they continue to vote for the BJP despite the Party’s organizational weakness and apparent lack tactical thinking.

IT IS TIME TO SPEAK OUT. IT IS TIME TO ASK UNCONFORTABLE QUESTIONS TO PEOPLE WHO MATTER.

AND THE FIRST QUESTION TO ASK OUR BJP LEADER IS….WHERE IS OUR BOOTH COMMITTEE ?
