Iron Ore Scam – Former Communist Minister Elamaram Kareem received Rs 5 Crore as bribe

Thiruvananthapuram: Once again BJP leader K Surendran’s revelations about the role of CPM leaders in issuing a controversial license for iron ore mining in Chakkittapara, an ecologically feeble  village came true.

Today Subair , driver of T P Naushad who is the close associate of former minister and CITU leader Elamaram Kareem alleged that a Karnataka based company have bribed the former minister with 5 crore rupees.

Chakkittapara is one among the 123 villages in the state which are listed in Kasturirangan report, where restrictions are sought to be placed in order to preserve the environment.
