Include astrology in the curriculum

INCLUDE ASTROLOGY IN THE CURRICULAM

If Physics is a science then Astrology should also be taught in the universities as a scientific subject, according to Dr. K S Radhakrishnan, Vice Chancellor, Kalady Sanskrit university.

Inaugurating a seminar on the ‘Works of Guru Nithyachaithanya yathi’ organised by the Ernakulam “Gurusmarana Samithi”, he said “it is not that  astrology is right or wrong but the reality is that it is knowledge” and that fact has to be accepted. Taking decision based on what the westerners say on the subject is intellectual slavery, he said.

 He opined that the inability to correctly interpret the Vedic verse “Agnimethe Purohitham” has resulted in the priests acquiring more importance. Actually in sanskrit ‘Purohitham’ means ‘engage in deeds that give glory to the  world’ Dr. Radhakrishnan also criticized the attitude of certain universities and people for privatizing knowledge.
