Ice cream parlour case: Shocking details come to light

published on February 8, 2013

The ice cream parlour sex case diary has shocking revelations against Industries Minister P K Kunhalikutty and his brother-in-law K A Rauf in the sabotage of the sensational case.

One of the victims P Roslin, 37, of Eranjippalam in Kozhikode says in her statement made before the Crime Branch on March 9, 2011 that the victims were called to the house of one Chelari Sherief and trained how to face the interrogation by the Crime Branch. They were threatened to parrot what they had been taught to tell.   Roslin had retracted her statements during the trial and told the court that she did not know the accused. After all the accused were acquitted, Rauf arranged for her Gulf trip on a visit visa.

At Karama in Dubai, she got a cleaner’s job at London Creek Hotel due to the efforts of Rauf. Along with Rajula, another accused, they worked there for three and a half years. But Roslin  returned to Kerala at the behest of Rauf. This time Rauf asked her to come back and rake up the issues and thereby make money instead of toiling in the Gulf country. She knew that without Rauf’s help she could not stay back in Gulf. It was at the insistence of Rauf that she returned here.

Roslin, however, has revealed that Rauf had secretly recorded Bindu’s and her statement in hidden camera. Roslin says Chelari Sherief had given them cash to retract their statements in the court and offered them money. However, she had sent a letter to the CB , V S and a Kozhikode court revealing the facts about the persuasion by Kunhalikutty, Rauf and Sherief.  However, the police have not taken this  seriously.

Ice cream parlour case continues to haunt Kunhalikutty

Close on the heels of the P J Kurien issue, another sex scandal has returned to haunt the state.  The ice cream parlour sex case diary now accessed by Opposition Leader V S Achuthanandan following a court order has shocking revelations by the victims pointing fingers at Industries Minister P K Kunhalikutty and his brother-in-law K A Rauf in the sabotage of the sensational  case.

Some of  the case diary details reveal the sexual exploitation of two victims by Kunhalikutty. One of the victims P Roslin, 37, of Eranjipplam in Kozhikode, says in her statement made before the Crime Branch on March 9, 2011, that the victims were called to the house of one Chelaeri Sherief and coached  how to face the interrogation by the Crime Branch. They were threatened to parrot what they had been taught to tell.

Roslin says they were interrogated by Crime Branch DySP Venu and others and out of  fear about those in power,  they said  what they had been taught to sabotage the case.

Roslin says she and several other girls had been used by Sreedevi, the ice cream parlour proprietor. Rajina, Rajula, Bindu, Baby, Sairabanu, Pattathi Bindu, Laila and Beena were some of the regular visitors. Sreedevi used them for immoral activities. Roslin had a close relation with Pattathi Bindu alias Sarada.

Roslin says that in 1995 Sreedevi  sent them to a house in Shoranur where they met Kunhalikutty and he had sex with both of them. They were paid `5,000 each. It was Kunhalikutty’s driver who brought them back in his car.

The case dairy says Roslin gave statement before police officials more than twice. But the police  never took  them to the site of the crime at Shoranur.

They had been asked to wear purdah to keep their identity a secret and prevent others from contacting them. It was Rauf who bought them the purdah.
