Two held in rape case

KOZHIKODE: The Chevayur police arrested two youths on the charges of raping an inmate of the juvenile home at Vellimadukunnu here. Kottayakattu Hydros, 27, hailing from Vengara, and Kollavalapil P T Siddique, 32, hailing from Kuttikattor, were produced before the Judicial First Class Magistrate Court (I) and remanded in judicial custody for 14 days. They have been charged under Section 376 (2) g (gang rape) of the Indian Penal Code. The 17-year-old girl was missing from the Juvenile Home for more than four days. She returned only a couple of days ago. The victim had been an inmate of the juvenile home for over a year after her step-father allegedly molested her, the police said.
