The 94th Hindu religious convention (Sanathana Dharma Parishad) began at Ayiroor Cherukolpuzha on the banks of the River Pampa near here on Sunday.

Inaugurating the week-long meet, Paropakarini Sabha general secretary Dharmavir called for a return to fundamental moral values, something which the religion had always cherished.

“Morality is the solution to all problems faced by human beings. Progress comes only when divisions in the name of caste and creed cease to exist,” Dharmavir said

KS Radhakrishnan, Vice-Chancellor of Kaladi Sanskrit University, who presided, said knowledge was being ‘privatised’ in the present era.

All India Vedic Vision president Rajendra Jijnasu also spoke.
