THRISSUR: BJP state president P K Krishnadas alleged that the substantial increase in the service charges in government-run hospitals and medical colleges announced by the government is part of a conspiracy by the CPM.

Talking to reporters here on Tuesday, Krishnadas said that by neglecting government- run hospitals and medical colleges and, at the same time, hiking the service charges, the government aims at detracting poor patients from these institutions with a view to forcing them to approach private and co-operative hospitals for their treatment.

Krishnadas was here leading the Jana Yatra, which entered the district. The Yatra arrived at the Thekkinkad maidan on Monday late night.
