Highlights of Kshetra Raksha yatra in Kerala

via HK Correspondent published on May 18, 2007

Hindu Akyavedi’s Kshetra Raksha yatra to educate the people and asking them to protest the implications of Government takeover of temples met with a tremendous response from the people.

At Kalpathy in Palakaad  an  old man with flowers and kalash was standing in the hot sun for an hour to welcome the Rathyatra. At Ottapalam there was a 2 km long stretch of motorcycles with saffron flags leading the Rath to the venue of welcome. At Pattambi there was a van and jeep full of policeman waving their hands to see off the Yatra. At Chalakudy temple committee members from some 75 temples came to welcome it.

Some highlights of the last few days are :

The Dharmarakshayatra was welcomed at  Aluva, Parur, Marine Drive, Tripunithara, Pattimattom.

Perumbavoor. Huge crowds gathered to listen to the speakers in some instances even though at some occasions they had to wait under the hot sun.

Many of the speakers of Hindu Akyavedi like Shri.Biju, Shri Radhakrishnan, Shri. Marad Suresh spoke of the dangers which Hindus will face if a communist government is allowed to go ahead with their hidden agenda. Shri. Kummannam Rajashekaran addressed the audience and informed them how the Devasom minister G. Sudakaran is bent on taking over all the temples in Kerala. He seems to be more interested in getting hold of the huge amount of funds which are collected in these temples. If a self proclaimed atheist like G.Sudhakaran  is allowed to continue to be in charge of the temple affairs it will have dangerous implications for Hindus. Some of his actions listed below will prove the point:

Ø     During last Sabarimala season he never visited the Sabarimala temple and never cared to enquire hardships faced by the lakhs of devotees which come to the Sabarimala from all over India.

Ø     This is the first time a minister is least bothered to visit the holy shrine and enquire about the amenities provided to the devotees.

Ø     The minister has ordered the sale of hundreds hectares of land belonging to Palliyarkavu Devi temple in  Nilakkal and paid for it from the Devasom funds.

Ø     The minister visited Guruvayoor and ordered the Guruvayoor devaswom to divert 14 crores to loss making co-operative banks. At the same time he did not even care to visit the temple to pay obeisance to Lord Krishna of Guruvayoor.

Ø     The minister wrote a letter to Guruvayoor Devasom to  allow Yesudas entry in to the temple but withdrew from the issue when Muslim and Christian organisations opposed it.

Ø    The other members of the present communist establishment are also of the same category like M.A. Baby who recently announced a 1.25 lakh Raja Ravi Varma award to M.F.Hussain who has denigrated Hindu deities by drawing their nude and  perverted pictures.
