High level political exercises to bail out KP Punnoose?

According to latest reports, high level political moves are being made to ferry out KP Punnoose, the brother of Believers’ Church head KP Yohnnan out of the case of alleged amassing of illegal wealth. Sources have stated that a Congress leader hailing from Pathanamthitta, along with a minister in the ruling front are having discussions with senior police officials to bail Punnoose out of the entangle.

KP Punnoose was yesterday arrested on charges of cheating and operating unauthorized foreign funds. Along with him was Vimal,who has been accused of stealing foreign currency from Punnoose.

KP Punnoose, a Congress (I) leader and president of Niranam panchayat was arrested on Sunday for running a foreign currency racket. The development comes following the seizure of foreign currency worth Rs 4,515 crore from his ‘agent’ Vimal Raj from Chennai on Saturday.

It was alleged that Vimal had stolen Yugoslavian Dinar (Yum) to the tune of Rs 4,515 crore from Punnoose.
