Guruvayur Temple getting ready for Ashtamirohini fest

GURUVAYUR: The Sree Krishna temple is all set for the ashtamirohini celebrations on Monday.

The devaswom has made elaborate arrangements for the ashtamirohini celebrations in the temple. Special counters to book the offering of unniyappam Nivedyam for Lord Guruvayurappan will be opened from 5 p.m. at the temple.

The maximum offering per devotee has been limited to Rs 20. The devaswom M is preparing appam worth Rs 1.6 lakhs and palpayasam worth Rs 1.28 lakhs for ashtamirohini day. In addition to Oottupura of the temple, the devaswom has set up temporary sadya hall in the west nada for serving the pirannal sadya .

Special kazhchaseeveli with the swarnakkolam of Sree Guruvayurappan accompanied by melam and panchavadyam will be performed in the morning and evening in the temple.

The entire employees of the devaswom and other institutions of devaswom will be deployed in the temple from Sunday evening, said devaswom administrator V Ratheesan.

Ashtamirohini celebrations will begin with avathara vilambara yatra from Mammiyoor temple on Sunday evening and conclude at the east gopuram of the Sree Krishna temple.

The ‘uri nirakkal’ ritual for the uriyadi ritual will be held at Nair Samajam Hall on Sunday evening.

The uriyadi procession on ashtamirohini day led by Nair Samajam in association with various organisations and government offices here will begin from Mammiyoor temple on Monday morning.
