Guruvayur temple all set for annual fete

The annual fete of Sree Krishna temple here will begin on Friday. The festival will begin with anayottam (elephant race) from Manjulal premises.

As many as 41 elephants are participating in the race this year. Sahasra kalasabhishekam and Brahma kalasabhishekam, preceding the temple fete, were performed at the temple on Thursday.

The Brahmakalasam was carried to the sreekovil in a ceremonial procession. Senior thantri Chennas Raman Namboothiripad performed the Brahma kalasabhishekam after the pantheeradi pooja.

‘Anayilla Seeveli’ will be performed on the first day of the utsavam. The rituals will begin with acharya varanam, where the temple Ooralan Mallissery Parameswaran Namboothiripad will hand over koora and pavithram to the temple thantri.

Kodipooja followed by kodiyettam will be performed during the night. Temple thantri Chennas Raman Namboothiripad will hoist the flag.
