BJP district leader L Sivarajan told mediapersons that essential services were exempted from the hartal. There are many criminal cases pending against CPI(M) criminals in the district and across the state, But this move to victimize Hindu activists under gunda act is to take revenge by misusing the power.

Even after 90 days of murder, the investigative agencies were not able to prove any solid evidence against the involvement of Hindu activist in connection with the two murders of CPI(M) activist. As no charges were framed yet, Court granted bail to those who were falsely implicted. This urgent move to enlist them in Gunda list is to deny them the bail.

Two CPI(M) workers and a BJP worker was killed recently. The BJP, RSS activists were arrested by the police on false charges of murder and the Goonda Act was framed against them at the same time no action is yet taken to book the CPI(M) criminals who killed the BJP activist.

The BJP leaders warned the State Government and the CPI(M) leadership about the consequences of framing such a case against the political workers. They alleged that the police was registering cases on the basis of the recommendations from the local CPI(M) leaders.

The BJP leaders said that Kodiyeri Balakrishnan should remember that he was the Home Minister of the entire State and not a CPI(M) leader to show political victimisation. The BJP and the RSS enjoy good hold at grassroot-level in Palakkad district and the vote share of the party has been growing steadily in the Palakkad Lok Sabha and Assembly constituencies.

The party leadership alleged that the CPI (M) was trying deliberately to foment trouble in the area with the help of certain fundamentalist outfits.
