Grenade recovery,CPM leader under arrest

Kallambalam: Police arrested local CPM leader in connection with grenade recovery from Kallambalam in Thiruvananthapuram.


 


V.Subash son of Velukutty Nair of S.M. land Kappam vila was arrested by the Attingal police. This person was the branch secretary and Kadavoor local commitee member of the CPM.


 


The very next day after the grenade were found, there was an explosion near heap garbage near Subash’s house. As a result of the explosion, the detonator came off and Subash suffered burns all over his body. It was this incident which led to the arrest of Subash. He was a driver in the army and was posted at Andaman & Nicobar islands, where he was terminated from his job for bad behaviour towards his senior officer Jaspal Singh. Later Subash worked at place like Port Blair, Cabin Bay etc. It was from here that he had managed to acquire the grenade said Attingal DySP B.Sashidaran.


 


It is said that Subash had removed the detonator of the grenade and kept them at his house from 1994 to 2006. Subash is suspected to be involved in the murder of RSS seva pramukh Sunil Kumar at Kilimanoor.


 


In the area CPM and NDF terrorists acts hand in hand against Hindu leaders and organisations.During the investigation of Sunil Kumar’s murder Subash had hid the detonator under a culvert. The police said while Subash was trying to destroy the detonator, he got badly burned.


 


Police is also probing to the role of NDF terrorists in the incident.
