Glowing Tributes to Sepoy Subinesh

Jammu: Glowing tributes have been paid to Sepoy Subinesh AM who made the supreme sacrifice on 23 November 2015. He lost his life while foiling an infiltration bid by terrorists on the Line of Control near Rajouri district. Subinesh, a native of Koyilandy is the son of Kunhi Raman of Cheliya.

In the ensuing firefight while combating terrorists, Sepoy Subinesh sustained a fatal gunshot injury and laid down his life in the line of duty in highest traditions of the Indian Army, said Army reports. A wreath laying ceremony was organised on Tuesday at Advanced Landing Ground, Rajouri.
Rich tributes were paid by many senior officers and other personnel of Indian Army. The wreaths were laid on behalf of Lt Gen D S Hooda, Army Commander, Northern Command and Lt Gen R R Nimbhorkar, General Officer Commanding, 16 Corps as they paid rich tributes to the to the martyred soldier. A guard of honour was also presented to the fearless soldier as a mark of respect before sending his mortal remains to his native village for the last rites.

Subinesh was deployed in forward area of Pokhra, Kalaal in Nowshera sector along the Line of Control (LoC) when suspected militants opened firing on the troops causing him serious injuries. Troops evacuated the injured jawan to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. Body of the martyr Jawan has been airlifted to his native town in Kerala with full military honours.
