Ghosts of Jinnah and Nehru haunts Kerala

published on October 18, 2012

There was a time when Muhammad Ali Jinnah showed up himself a secularist and Nehru an anti-Hindu. Soon Jinnah realized the way to power is fanaticism rather than the way he followed. In 1906 he founded All-India Muslim League; until then Hindus and Muslims fought against British rule standing shoulder to shoulder. Jinnah’s actions were catalyzed by Gandhi’s thoughts and Nehru’s actions.  Congress accepted Muslim League as the default choice to Muslims rather than continuing the way congress followed. Jinnah suceeded in dividing Hindus and Muslims with the blessings of then Congress party. And Finally, on 16 August 1946 , with all powers he acquired from the liberal attitude of Congress he declared “Direct Action”.  The History shows the  consequences of that.

After 42 years of its first birth Muslim League incarnated again on 1948 March 10. Even the rebirth too holds a secularist mask exactly like Jinnah had. Congress as well as CPI (M) did the same mistake what Nehru and Jinnah did. As a result of that again as a party it started growing. Now they reached in a stage where they claim they hold the steering wheel of Kerala government. Neither Chief Minister Umman Chandy nor Ramesh Chenniththala rejected what Muslim League claimed. It well proved what muslim League claimed is true. At this level what Muslim achieved is not just 20 MLAs and driving seat of government but a more and more terrific situation. This is not the success of PFI or Jamayatha Islami or any other Islamist organizations, but the ploy of  accumulating all Muslim votes and to use them for their benefit is the success of Muslim league and failure of all pseudo secularist political parties.

By plotting what Jinnah did with Muslim league’s current position, it is observable that both followed similar pattern yet and Congress too followed the same what they did.  By casting off the integral parts of Indian culture such as lighting lamp, Ganga etc. again the League have verified that they are in the same route through which Jinnah took his voyage to Pakistan once. Whoever has an argument against this should think was such action possible two or three decades back?  Unfortunately, Congress which never learned a lesson from History is still trying to woo them. The recent statement made by a young Congress MLA P C  Vishnunath – “Shobyatras on Sri Krishna Jayanthi  sow the seeds of communalism among the youngsters” shed light into the way of thinking of these Congress leaders who got blind with Hindu hatredness.

It is much appreciable that the stand taken by NSS and SNDP by understanding the current situation, they moved forward by standing  together to avoid such a situation that may eventually make  Hindus  from majority to minority. Not just such Hindu organizations, even the activists of Marxist party also now started thinking in such a way. Even though we are still being hunted by the ghosts of Jinnah and Nehru, the small step we took towards the Hindu unity shows some light in the darkness. Let’s hope
we would be able to hold Hindus together and prevent the creation of another Pakistan in the land of Adi Sankara.
