GURUVAYUR: The frisking at the entry points of the Sree Krishna temple owing to security reasons is causing inconvenience to the devotees and a few complaints have been filed before the devaswom authorities.

The Prathikaranavedi has presented the issue before the devaswom managing committee and the government. The devotees cleared through the Door Frame Metal Detectors (DFMC) are again physically examined by the special squad and is causing inconvenience to the devotees at the entry points, said Prathikaranavedi convener Venugopal Pazhoor.

The matter has been presented before the devaswom and senior police officials. Prathikaranavedi is seeking the intervention of the devaswom and the Home Minister, he added.

The physical frisking performed under the pretext of security after the entry through Door Frame Metal Detectors is causing embarrassment to the devotees of both genders and the physical examination by the special squad has to be rectified either by the police or the devaswom by installing hi-tech security equipment, said BJP Guruvayur president Ezhuvappadi Sree Kumar.

The devawom chairman Thottathil Raveendran and administrator V Rathesan told this website’s newspaper that the issue is of serious concern and it will be discussed with Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan immediately and necessary steps will be taken by the devaswom to avoid the inconvenience faced by the devotees.
