Forest Lease:Lok Ayukta issues notice to govt

KOLLAM: In a petition filed by M.V.Unnikrishnan, sought to cancel the leasing and granting of title deeds from January 1, 2000 and to prosecute Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and the Revenue Minister under the anti-corruption law to Lok Ayuktha,Lok Ayukta Justice Sridharan and Justice Shafi issued the notice to the government.

Wide spread corruption was alleged in government move  to lease out thousands of hectares of forest and revenue land to the landlords and plantation owners in violation of the rules.This govermental policy of Leasing out forest land is a part of Minority appeasement and Kerala Congress leader and present Revenue Minister K.M. Maani’s name had been always in forefront in previous Land scandals.
