For NSS Bhagvad Gita is Communal

Ottapalam:  The Malabar Nair Samajam has come out in protest against the move by NSS of not allotting its Auditorium fotGeethayajna, to be conducted in connection with the birth centenary celebrations of Swami Chinmayanandaji.

A letter had been handed over to the NSS general secretary seeking permission to use the hall. “This as however turned down citing ‘wounding others religious sentiments’, when in reality the Bhagavad Geetha is a sacred and philosophical text with universal message of oneness that transcends communal and religious barricades,” said the Malabar Nair Samajam.

“The general secretary has displayed the zenith of arrogance and ignorance by denying permission for conducting the Yajna, which was aimed at elaborating the universal message of the sacred text. All these moves, being made by the general secretary, has only served to tarnish the sacred post once occupied by esteemed souls like Mannath Padmanabhan,” said MNS in a statement, indicating strong dissent and plans of forthcoming protests.
