Flash flood in River Pampa; RSS swings into rescue operation.

Last day river pampa had witnessed flash flood  due to  continues rain and uninformed opening of nearby check dams .Sabarimala shrine is opened for monthly pooja and scores of ayyappa devotes were stranded in the banks of river pamba. But suddenly the RSS and Sevabharathi cadres arrived in the location and started the rescue operation though the government authorities were fails to reach the location even after many hours.

A fireman attached to the Seethathode Fire Station, was drowned in the flash flood at Triveni in Pampa while connecting rope at Triveni Foot Overbridge for helping the pilgrims to cross the river on their way to Lord Ayyappa temple.The victim is Jithendran, a native of Alapuzha.A fter long hours of search, the body found near the Arattu Kadavu.

The authorities failed to alert the pilgrims who came in large numbers at Pampa on their way to Sabarimala temple. Absence of announcement through loud-speakers or creating awareness through hoarding caused widespread protest among the pilgrims, who were forced to wait for hours at the other side of the river owing to the ban.
