published on October 24, 2014

Thiruvananthapuram :There are reports of SFI denying students their rights to study, in University College Thiruvananthapuram. The allegations have been made by students, who are said to have come out with the names of teachers and students, who are hindering learning process in the campus. Sources have also stated that breech of human rights at its zenith is taking place, with students who allegedly became victims of roughing up, having registered their complaint with the Chief Minister.
University College, known as ‘SFI Citadel’ is said to be resorting to malpractises and goondaism to further their ulterior motives. According to students, their unleashing of terror on the campus is “against the basic tenets of democracy, with scant respect for democratic organizations and with their agenda clearly on Fascist lines.”

Students who have been subject to their brutal manhandling have registered their complaint with the Chief Minister. Reports state that police have swung into action following numerous complaints registered with the Chief Minister. However, it is now being alleged that teachers and SFI goondas on the campus are threatening students to withdraw their complaint. Police are said to have issued notices to the SFI leaders, to register their testimonials.

Sources state that the condition has been prevailing since long in the college. According to complaints registered by students, anything that does not comply with Marxist agenda is countered with violence. Students are said to be dragged to the green room and roughed up activists of these groups. Girl students have registered complaints of not being given privacy in their retiring room, with these activists barging in and issuing threats to them.

Adding to the chaotic atmosphere is the dismal attitude donned by teachers, who allegedly support students indulging in these activities and who encourage them for the same. Many a times, arms and weapons are also said to have been found in the college campus.
