Explosives seized; polls under terrorist threat

THRISSUR:Police on Friday seized explosive materials including gelatine sticks from a van at Ollur,in Thrissur District.Police started interrogating the driver after taking him into custody, for getting more details.It is widely suspected that the explosives are transported for Pak-supported jihadi militants who are operating in Kerala.


The security across the state has been tightened after recieving messages from Central intelligence agencies that Pakistan-based terrorist organizations would try to create havoc in Kerala and Tamil Nadu in the context of Assembly elections.The Central intelligence agencies have urged the Election Commission and the state government to further tighten the security to prevent terrorist attacks in the state .
Accodding to reports, Pakistan based jihadi terrorist groups are supported by local sympathisers in Kerala,especially in the Malabar region and they may try to make troubles on the election day.
