Thrissur: Eminent Historian and Scholar Dr. MGS Narayanan, strongly criticized the political opportunism and apathy of communist party towards society, While addressing the Educational Seminar organized by ‘Kerala Cultural Forum’.

He ridiculed Pinarai Vijayan’s ‘U’ turn in connection with his own comments against the distribution of Pastoral Letter. Vijayan a seasoned politician realized that abusing the Church will dig the grave of his own party and it’s not like abusing the Journalist’s and Cultural leaders.

Narayanan warned that outdated principles of socialism and communism would destroy the education system of the State adding that the Opposition parties were helpless to withstand the incursions of the Left into the education sector. He said that the black marketing in education by Left parties, which started after Mundassery’s reforms, had been on the rise for the past two years. They would not let anyone who opposed them to live. Their aim was to establish their dominance over others, he alleged.

It was the reforms Joseph Mundasseri (First Education Minister in EMS Ministry) which paved way to corruption in Educational sector. Communist party has no right to speak about social justice. They have tried only to politicize Educational sector and were never bothered about social justice. Universities in Kerala are the worst example for dirty political games. “House Servants of Party Secretary are appointed as Vice Chancellors” Mocked Narayanan.

Artist M.V Devan who spoke in the seminar lashed out again against the Communist’s. Communist party were never interested in the development of the state , they were always interested in the development of their party. When the party comes into power, even local leaders who don’t have even 4 cents of land will come out with bunglows within the 5 years of party rule.

Artists Devan in his speech said that the communist leaders in Kerala were parasites. He said Mundassery and former Chief Minister and Marxist Guru EMS Namoothirippad were responsible for making them parasites. “Even (former Minister) KR Gowri has a role in this,” he said.

He suspected that Kerala was not developing because the Marxist comrades and their leaders were amassing money. Alluding to the bribery issues plaguing CPI(M) organ Desabhimani, Devan chided that the proletariats, who had the experience of toiling for a life, were now speaking of crores of rupees. He accused communist parties of destroying the farmers by taking them into the hands of the middle class.

“Revolution is impossible without starving masses. So the communist leaders are in an effort for creating such masses,” he alleged. The fundamental education system in Kerala was not reflective of the goal to create responsible citizens,” he said. He called for correction of errors that took place in tradition.
