Meloor double murder: 14 get life imprisonment

KANNUR: The principal session’s court today awarded life imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 200,000 each to fourteen CPM activists in connection with the double murder case in Meloor at Thalassery. They will have to undergo other punishments under various sections.

The case was that they hacked to death two RSS activists C K Sujeesh and P Sunil on March 2, 2002. It was nearly a month before the murder; the two left the CPM and joined RSS. The fifteen accused and district panchayat education standing committee chairman Sambath Kumar were acquitted on grounds of suspicion.
