Kozhikode: Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha held dharnas in all the district headquarters in the State on Tuesday to protest against the “violent politics being pursued by the CPI(M)”.

Inaugurating the dharna in Kozhikode, State BJP president PK Krishnadas said the CPI(M) should not hope to bring peace by threatening the BJP. Referring indirectly to the incidents at the CPI(M) headquarters in Delhi, Krishnadas said that any act against the BJP workers in Kerala would be taken up at the national level. He alleged that the Congress and the CPI(M), which were attacking each other in Kerala, were united in attacking the BJP in the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha.

Inaugurating the dharna at Chinnakkada, Kollam, State BJP general secretary MT Ramesh said the CPI(M)-sponsored violence in Kannur district was also part of a conspiracy to destabilise the VS Achuthanandan Government. He alleged that CPI(M) State secretary Pinarayi Vijayan’s statement on Monday was aimed at defeating the peace efforts of the Achuthanandan Government. This was part of the agenda decided at the State conference of the CPI(M) in Kottayam, he added.
