Aranmula: District administration has stalled all work aimed at restoring water-bodies in Aranmula. Reports state that work, in connection with revival and resuscitation of Aranmula’s water bodies like Karimaram ‘thodu’ and Aranmula ‘chaalu’ have been brought to a halt, following directions from district collector Hari Kishore. The move stands as breach of Court directives.

The Court order directing restoration of water bodies came after a petition was filed by member of Pathrukagrama Karma Samiti and Aranmula native V Mohanan. But with the district collector donning a non congenial attitude, it is now confirmed that the new move is to beguile people.

It has been alleged that a conspiracy has been hatched with a meeting between former owner of the plot Abraham Kalamannil and minister Adoor Prakash, following which a brief drama of restoration took place. Even though the Court directive was issued in June, nothing significant in the direction is said to have taken place
