The latest overtures that non-Brahmins should not be appointed priests in the TDB temples in Kerala would lead to the disintegration of the Hindus in the state, according to Satchidananda Swamiji, head of the. Chalakudy Gayathri Ashram.

He said that the consecration of the famous Aruvipuram Siva Lingam by Sri Narayana Guru and the subsequent consecration of a number of temples in the state under his leadership and the related events had rescued the Hindu religion in the state. In all these temples the priests are non-Brahmins. In fact, introduction of a “vaidic tradition” and the setting up of temples by the Guru had resulted in arresting the conversion of backward classes into Christianity, he said.
