CPM unleashes Kannur model Terror in Alappuzha

Alappuzha: The situation in Alappuzha district is tense after the murder of Senior leader and Charanmoodu Taluk Karyavahak of the RSS by CPM criminals.

Body of Chandran was kept in Mavellikkara RSS Karyalaya for public till evening and later cremated at Vallikunnath.

A strong contingent of police is camping in the Vettiyar area in Mavelikkara were the incident took place. The Alappuzha district Superintendent of Police EJ Jayaraj was stopped by a violent mob claiming that police inaction was the prime reason for this brutal assassination of a senior functionary of the Sangh.


The area is notorious for frequent clashes between the CPI(M) and the RSS and the present issue which resulted in the killing of Chandran started with the attack on an RSS worker Anesh Kumar by a group of armed CPI(M) men while he was about to board a bus.


There was a counter attack allegedly by the RSS which resulted in injuries to a DYFI worker Sanil at the Vettiyar junction.


As a consequence to this attack there were strong attacks on the residences of RSS leaders and workers and eyewitnesses said that there were stone pelting on the residences of RSS leaders.


In the attack a woman got injuries in her eyes and face after the windowpanes of the house broke in heavy stone throwing.


There are losses to many houses with household equipments and furniture being destroyed in the attacks.


Chandran, who is a senior leader of the RSS, reached the Vettiyar area after hearing the news of the attack on the residences of the RSS activists. Police tried to disperse a group of workers including Chandran who were visiting the destroyed houses and in the melee that followed Chandran was missing. His body was found on Saturday morning with slashes throughout his body.
