CPM strategy to gain foothold in north India boomeranged: P.Parameswaran

via Mahadev published on January 12, 2006

Kochi : The allegation raised by the CPM Parliament member, Vrinda Karat, with the support of the CPM General Secretary, Prakash Karat, against the renowned Ayurveda Acharya and Yoga expert, Baba Ramdev is the devious strategy of the CPM to secure a foothold in the north Indian states where it has so far failed to have a base, according to Shri. P Parameswaran, Director, Bharathiya Vicharakendram.

But, abinitio itself it has boomeranged as the Marxist party’s alliance leaders are his followers and beneficiaries of Baba Ramdev’s ayurvedic treatments and yoga training. He has a strong mass base in North India. Not only because of the quality of the medicines but also it has grown as a Swadeshi rival of the foreign multinational monopolists.

On the other hand, their agitation has exposed the Communist’s ignorance about the Ayurveda system. In fact, Ayurveda, which has survived the tests of time, provides solutions to the health problems of the mankind, he pointed out.

Ayurveda system does not exclusively depend on medicinal plants and herbs. It uses flesh and bone marrow, the non-vegetarian items, in preparing certain drugs based on the ancient Ayurveda texts such as “Ashtangahrudayam”. Contrary to the claims of Prakash Karat the Ayurveda physicians in Kerala also manufacture such drugs. “Ajamamsa Rasayanam” and several other such drugs are prescribed and administered for certain serious ailments, Shri. Parameswaran pointed out.

Therefore, the agitation and the false propaganda unleashed against Baba Ramdev and his institutions is undoubtedly part of a well planned conspiracy.

The Marxist strategy was that if this experiment, launched against this popular organisation and its spiritual leader having a mass following, succeeded then the same method could be used against similar other such Hindu establishments and their leaders.

But, the Communists do not seem to understand that their this kind of strategies, which had at times turned out to be successful, when tried out against political parties and its leaders, might not click in the case of spiritual leaders and their institutions, Shri. Parameswaran warned, adding the spiritual leaders enjoy more credibility than the politicians.
