CPM should give up arms, says BJP

THRISSUR : Kerala BJP president PK Krishnadas has said that CPI(M) leadership must ask its cadre to give up arms and work as responsible citizens of the country.

He said BJP was always ready for ideological debates and doesn’t believe in bloodbaths. Talking to reporters at Thrissur after visiting the house of slain Yuva Morcha leader PS Sujith at Engandiyoor, Krishnadas said it was high time that the CPI(M) leadership started acting responsibly.

“The CPI(M) is launching these attacks so as to cover the factionalism in the party and to take public attention away from the failure of the Government,” alleged Krishnadas.

The state president said in Jayakrishnan murder case, the party was holding consultations with legal experts on the future course of action.

Shooing away dissenting voices from the party circles on the irresponsible handling of the case, the BJP state president said individual voices of disapproval cannot be taken as a collective opinion.

“The real issue is the irresponsible nature in which the public prosecutors had handled the case. The lawyer who represented prosecution at the apex court was the same person who represented the accused in the High Court,” said Krishnadas.
