CPM, NDF spreading violence: BJP

published on January 25, 2007

Thiruvananthapuram:The State unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party has accused the CPI(M) and and Jehadi terrorist organization National Development Front (NDF), of making efforts to propagate violence in the context of the proposed visit of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi to Kerala.

BJP State general secretary AN Radhakrishnan told newsmen here on Thursday that Modi did not need any concessions from Chief Minister VS Achuthanandan or Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan. Achuthanandan had the other day charged the RSS and NDF with efforts to rake up communal tension in the context of the Modi visit.

Modi is scheduled to attend a Hindu Mahamela organised by the Sangh parivar here on January 29.

Radhakrishnan expressed surprise at the plan by CPI(M)’s youth wing DYFI to observe Black Day on the day of Modi’s visit. He said the NDF and the DYFI were engaged in provocative campaigns over the Modi visit.

Terming as ‘unfortunate’ the attitude of DFYI, the BJP challenged the CPI(M) for an open debate on the development policies initiated by Modi in Gujarat. He also warned that the BJP could effectively block the visits by the Kerala Chief Minister or any other Minister to another State.

The BJP leader also said that party national executive committee member CK Padmanabhan would lead a demonstration to Kottayam demanding solution to the problems on MC Road. Former Union Minister O Rajagopal would inaugurate the demonstration, Radhakrishnan said. He added that the Opposition UDF, which was responsible for corruption in the Kerala State Transport Project had no right to agitate in the matter.
